Das Ellen-Forum

Nach dem Drama um Hund Iggy hat sich Ellen eine Auszeit genommen und die beiden Aufzeichnungen ihrer Show, die für Donnerstag geplant waren, abgesagt. In ihrem wöchentlichen Newsletter schreibt sie unter der Überschrift “What A Week”:

“I’m taking it easy this weekend. It’s been a pretty rough week. For those of you who’ve been out of the country or fell asleep with your iPods on, I’ve been having some dog problems. I’m still hoping for a positive outcome. In the meantime, I want to thank you all for your support and encouraging e-mails. Tuesday we’ll be devoting part of our show to promoting pet adoption. In spite of everything that happened last week, I can’t stress enough how important it is to adopt a pet. For now, I’m going to curl up to Wolf, Charley, George and The Chairman and get busy relaxing. …”

Als Reaktion auf Ellens tränenreichen Zusammenbruch in ihrer Sendung hatte es Morddrohungen gegen die Besitzerinnen der Haustiervermittlung gegeben, die Iggy der Familie von Ellens Friseurin wieder weggenommen hatten. Ellen hatte darauhin in der am Donnerstag ausgestrahlten Sendung gebeten, dies zu unterlassen: “You don’t resort to violence, please stop that.” Sie hatte auch daran erinnert, dass sie selbst bereits das Ziel von Morddrohungen gewesen sei und dass diese Situation sehr unangenehm sei.

Hund Iggy soll inzwischen ein neues Zuhause haben, allerdings weder bei Ellen noch bei Ruby, der Tochter ihrer Friseurin, sondern bei einer anderen Familie, die - aus verständlichen Gründen - anonym bleiben möchte.

As a reaction to the ‘doggy drama’ regarding little Iggy Ellen has cancelled Thursday’s tapings of her show after appealing to her fans to stop threatening the two women who run the pet agency where Ellen and Portia adopted Iggy. “You don’t resort to violence”, Ellen said on the show that aired Thursday. In her weekly newsletter, she writes:

Meanwhile, Iggy seems to have found a new home. As the pet agency stated on Friday, Iggy has been adopted out to another family, who - no wonder - wants to remain anonymous.
